I can't believe how many of my customers already know about this, I have had so many people ask me what I think of the new design, I think this one will be a big hit.
how does one use an under quilt with this?

I've been playing with one. It does not have hooks sewn on. Ihave been able to suspend my UQ the typical way both under the netting at the end and over the netting. Both ways work but I thonk the over method was a bit better. It seems to keep a more secure closure of the netting.

I plan on trying to get my wooki to fit this hammock once it arrives and see how that goes in colder temps.
If goes well a second wooki will be ordered.

I snoozed and missed the chance to order the first Raven, oh well, it's ordered now!

granxman,
I've so far only suspended my quilts on my DB72 with lengths of bungie cord with hooks on the end. It's on the main whoopee line like a prussic knot so I can slide it up and down to adjust tension/position. Hooked to the corners of the quilt, it holds the sides tight and it manages to drift with me as I turn from left to right lay. On rare occasions I have to tweak it a bit but can usually pinch it through the hammock body to do so. Not sure what I'll do with the straps that I just ordered with my Raven, maybe the same will work. We'll see. Handling rain will be another learning opportunity, straps will convey more water...
So to clarify....the benefits of this design are:
No stress on the netting
Less zippers (weight and less chance of failure)
Easy stowing of net/cover
It is very cool, and I can't think of anything similar. I've never thought traditional integrated nets were a problem, but this does look like an improvement. Having to unzip around the entire hammock is a pain. Having different removal (fully stowed, ridge line) options is nice.
Is there any change in the interior space with the net, vis a vis with the traditional integrated nets?
I'm a bit worried about windy situations. Especially at the zipper ends. Is there a chance the over cover would flap?

I am pretty sure that Paul at UGQ's has allready custom designed an uq for this new Raven, soon to be released is what i read on another thread here somewhere.
Also my wife used her UGQ Zepplin on her Raven and it worked just fine.
We also spent one really windy night out and her top cover didn't flap or lift in any way, it zips right down to the fabric.
