Sitting out by themselves with perfect spacing and clear ground, for some unknown reason lower branches trimmed by the wildlife department, I found the perfect place to play...
I bought a Noah's Tarp 12 on sale a while back and never got to set it up. Finally got a chance to mess with it and try out closing it off to the wind. Did a lot of fiddling around and got pretty much what I was trying for, although I'm not able to get it super tight.
Pretty cozy inside but plenty of room for the hammock. This is my (almost) 11' HyperD 1.6 I made with a CDT modified to a top quilt with sewn foot box. Under quilt is a RSBTR Climashield 3/4 kit.
Now that I've found a place close to home I can mess around with my gear more. I live in a prairie area... No trees on my property.

Here's my setup.Sorry had to throw in a pic of a "purdy boil"..........
My system is basically the same even if I change out smaller tarps in warmer weather or colder temp under and too quilts in winter. I have 2 styles of hammocks. A netless warbonnet and a BlackBird. Straps and woopies are both used. Woopies primarily in above 45 degree temps. Just easier to adjust straps when you have cold hands.
The Cuban Fiber Double Wide....
Nice and bright...
