    Topquilt footbox help

Hey All, this is my first post! I've been reading and learning so much and finally have some questions! So, recently I took on my 3rd DIY project and made a Karo step topquilt with a cinch cord/omni tape footbox, mostly from watching Dubber, joe brewer, and Grapenut on YouTube (sorry guys don't know your HF names). While I think it turned out awesome, I'm finding the omni tape uncomfortable and the whole slightly too large at the cinch cord openING

I'm making another quilt for a friend and wanted to try horizontal baffles with a rectangular sewn in footbox, but am having trouble figuring out how to sew the bottoms together up a couple feet, then stuff it? Or vice versa? Any help would be great! Thanks!

Stuff it,then sew it. Too much trouble the other way. After you close and hem the quilt turn it inside out and sew the two hems together as far as you'd like. Make sure you reinforce the spot where you stop so the stitching doesn't get ripped out. That will help you determine how big the bottom opening is (I'm guessing you're sewing in a stuffed pillow of sorts). That's probably the most basic way without getting into more advanced footbox design.
