60 Miles in 6 Days at World's End State Park

Cranky Bear, Brock, Brock's friend, and I went and hiked the Loyalsock Trail in Pa. It was 6 days of up the mountain, then down the mountain, then up the next mountain. I think the tallest peak on the trail was around 2800'. We got up there the sunday before we were to start, to stash a food cache and camp out to get an early start. I poured buckets. We had little rivers form rushing under our hammocks, loud enough that the rushing water below me woke me up. Cranky Bear slept in his car.
Brock told us 10 miles a day, should be a lolly gag hike. Well it quickly turned into a real hike. The terrain was steep, slick, and rough. The lolly gagging was at a bare minimum. The trail was beautiful though, and worth the trip.
After we finished our trip, we went and got beer and steaks, drove back to our cache spot for a final night in the woods. We noticed one of our 5ga buckets were missing, not the one with expensive gear left in it, but the one with stinky sweaty clothes and trash. Had to be a bear. The bucket ended up being only 100' away with big 'ol teeth marks in it where he bit holes in the bucket, but never got in it.
We packed up and left the following day, stopping at a local Inn. When we left, we were passing an amusement park, so we stopped and rode a roller coaster.

Ha ha ha ... looks like y'all had a great time. Thanks for sharing your pics. For some reason, the Blues Brothers popped into my head when I saw the roller coaster shot.

ha, yeah, he's got a back issue that acts up in a hammock. He sleeps on a mini air mattress. The thing must be about 4" thick.

That's some pretty country. I should've gone there before I moved west to the Pacific Coast. I have friends in the Wilkes Barre area, and this gives me even more reason to go visit them!
