I understand completely. My wife wanted a sewing machine, took a few classes... and never used it again. Now I wish that I had purchased a different sewing machine, as the more I use the one we have, the more I realize that it's only good for light work. My response was a bit tongue-in-cheek given my miserable experiences in trying to avoid DIY projects and force things to do what they shouldnt.Though the no-sew was a good introduction for me. With more time I'd love to go straight from scratch. Snaps = baby steps.
If you want a good first project to try your hand at with sewing, making a camping pillow is super easy, as well as making the Triangle Thingies which help to ensure a better fit with your UQ.
