I talked with the caretaker of the campsite mentioned on the blog and he said hammocks are ok. I wanted to go last week but the weather was sketchy and did not want to spoil the camping experience with my kid. We are re-planning the trip in early October and will try to write about it.
But yeah, not a lot of people use hammocks for camping. But it's slowly taking hold. Just got a friend to invest in a warbonnet.

Well... most of my pictures are of Jeeps or my dogs. I did manage to scrounge up a few. Funny how tents are not as photographic as hammocks.

This is at an annual off road festival in a field next to the off road park.

Not in Japan. This is Rubicon Springs in California. I was in my Hileberg Akto to the left. Loved this tent, but it is not free standing which was a challenge on the rubicon due to the rocky terrain.

Here is my most recent set up at the Jeep Jamboree here in Japan.

That's the best I can do for now. When I get the Warbonnet tarp it will replace the coleman canopy and the rain tarp on the Catoma EBNS until I get a hammock.
Welcome to the wonderful world of hammocks! You now have two hobbies to take all of your money, Jeeps and hammocks! I also noticed you have metal cloak fenders and am jealous.

Os! Welcome to this great forum!
I'm a Hamakko......lived in the Honmoku area for the first 18 yrs of my life, attended and graduated from a DOD school, which later moved to Yokosuka. That was back in '72 when I graduated from HS.
Best Regards,
Brad
