MN > Frozen Butt Hang > Planning Thread

Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes here, but I don't think anyone is planning this year's hang. I talked with Hillbilly Deluxe and him and his wife aren't planning like they have in the past, so I'm starting this thread as a way to get the ball rolling.

First up is dates:
The Wisconsin hang is Jan 13-15 I believe, so we should try to plan around that I think.
I propose the following weekends
Jan 6-8
Jan 20-22
Jan 27-29 - I think this is the best date as it gives some room between the two hangs so people would be more likely to attend both.

Next up is location:
I think the Finland State Forest has proven to be a good spot, but would be open to other suggestions as I know ideas have been thrown around in the past.

Any help that people want to help provide would be great! Please comment away and help get the MN Frozen Butt 2017 planned

I finally have the gear and the time to make this work. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I have a couple of nice places around me as well (old burned down resort with a fireplace still standing next to Ruth Lake) that would work but then it wouldn't be the MN frozen butt hang. Maybe a future WI winter hang. Any of those weekends is great.

Same here... Still a relative Noob... a multi-decade BWCA'er and a winter lover in general... hoping the dates work out... I also coach basketball, so that will be the biggest factor!

The 2016 FBH was Jan 8-10th and we had lows of somewhere between -21 to -23. A new record low for me.

Yep, I was there. THAT'S Frozen Butt weather!! Isn't that what this hang is all about??
