Suggestions for a Guest quilt, you know when you invite a grounder for weather too cold for pads

So my girlfriend and I like to introduce new people to hammock camping and I would like to find the lowest 20° full length UQ out there for new hangers to use, any suggestions?
DIY is a challenge at this point because I have no sewing experience but plan to learn some day.

Check out LocoLibre's, Hammock Gear, Enlightened Equipment, etc. line of synthetic under quilts as these are very good quilts at an affordable price.

When I introduce folk to the joys of hammock, I try to give them the best experience I can. This means giving them my best hammock, best tarp, best underquilt... whilst I slum it.

Great choices, but also Arrowhead Equipment synthetic New River UQ. Besides weight and bulk, synthetic is still very warm.

As said earlier there are some great synthic options out there. I didn't do a search through all the cottage vendors but most offer a entry price point synthetic quilt. I can only attest to Arrowhead Equipment or Loco Libre. Both are great quality quilts and I wouldn't think twice about putting a friend in either, or as Gadget said give them your down one and you take the synthetic quilt. You could also try the "want to buy" forum. Some people start with a synthetic and move to down and hold onto their synthetic. They may just need that extra push to get rid of their old quilt they haven't used in a few years.

Might consider JRB universal quilts? I have all of them, I like the idea of having options. Gives me the needless joys of choosing which topquilt I want to take on trips, or if one of the kids tags along, I can hang one as an UQ instead.

For example, An Old rag mnt "TQ" is my "full on winter" 0 deg TQ, or I can rig it as an UQ for one of the kids, and use my Hudson river as a TQ instead. Makes spending so much for "blankets" seem more reasonable!

Looks like SnugPak Under Blankets (full length synthetic under quilt) have gotten pricier (and narrower) this year, but they're still about half what anything else would cost (*cheap to replace--still under $60)...and they are *heavy duty/durable (think army gear) and *excellent wind blockers/warm through upper to mid 30's....three qualities that are an advantage for loaner gear.

I would add these caveats, though:
*You should be on hand to do their set up so it's done correctly, otherwise they could wind up having a drafty, miserable night.
*Don't rely on it for temps any lower than the mid thirties.
*Ok for car camping or base camping...heavy and bulky for hiking.

Personally, I wouldn't loan my Wookie to anyone. I loan only what I can afford to lose.
