How much extra width on second layer of bridge hammock?

Going to make my second HikingDad bridge hammock and I plan to make it a double layer to accommodate a Big Agnes pad. I thought about just making both layers the same width but I read that the RidgeRunner second layer sags when there is no pad, which makes sense since the RR is a very shallow hammock and taking away depth from the sleeper makes it less stable.

So I am curious, would anyone have a guess at how much extra width one would need on the second layer to snugly hold a 2-3 inch pad without taking away too much "depth"?

So you saying I'm not paying attention.... Actually I should have said, "what is the maximum thickness of a pad that you would like to use... I believe you should go with twice the thickness of the pad. Right gmcttr?

I use to make the outer layer almost 7/8" wider (2cm actually). My Exped Synmat is about 2 3/4 and it fits perfectly but it also works well with thin pads.

What I found with my DIY Bridge, the under layer hug a bit lower than I needed, iy acyed like a scoop. Next time I will go with 1/2 inch. I sewed a patch to close the end when not using a pad.
