Howdy Chattooga! This site is a great cache of information! I hail from up Lexington way in the midlands of SC! I know we have a couple of hangers down your way, hiking shoes for one. I believe one of them thar' Ga members was talking earlier about a possible paddle / group hang up around Burrel's Ford next Spring. Maybe when the air temp is up a little (more conducive to paddling for us amateurs)
PS: No Shug is not Horse (RH) in disquise!
Merry Christmas Chattooga !
I've been down that river a few times.
Hi Chattooga
You guys sure know how to make a guy feel welcome. Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!!!!!
Hey Chattooga! I just crossed the Chattooga this evening, on the way from TN to SC to visit family for the weekend. Sitting at my mother's kitchen table right now! Took a round about way for fun, since I-40 is closed, as is US 64 (I believe it is). Did the Cherohala Skyway this afternoon and cut through the corner of NC/GA/SC.
Anyway, welcome to HF! Hope to be "seeing" you around.

Welcome to Hammock Forums!
Heaven descended and made the Low Country. The landscape is beautiful, the culture and history are rich, and the food is better'n all that combined!
Used to "run" with a girl whose family goes way, way, way back in Low Country history. We used to visit her family just about every chance we got. Moncks Corner, Bonneau, St. Stephen, Oakley, were all family stops we'd have to make... Sure miss those trips.
Is "The Dock" still in Moncks Corner? Best catfish on the planet, I tell ya.

Hey Ary (would take me too long to type the rest!) Sadly, The Dock is now Gilligan's. Not bad, but not quite the same. Now that we are finally getting some cool weather, it's time for an oyster roast!
Oyster season is closed around here
So much rain, too much fresh water.
Luckily, I already had my required 2 bushels for the year. I work up the road in Georgetown, but I live in a small town called Kingstree.
Hikingshoes and I are planning a get together found here: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=12639
I'll update my own status by thursday. If I start feeling better, I'll be going out friday afternoon after work. I'll bring firewood and skillet to cook eggs in. If you want to join me/us, come on out. If you've got firewood, more is always better.
