No harm... To be honest... I didnt even know what the hook end looked like. It was more out of curiousity than anything.
I have found a use for it. Since I use the locking brummel... on the constrictor for a UCR, I use the hook end to pull the already made loop through the locking of the tail loop.
Im hoping everyone put up pics of what they are doing with their Dynaglide.
Just for those who are dying to know, and reluctant to ask, a Marlinspike is metal with a slightly flattened point, and is best used for splicing wire rope. A Fid is wooden, completely round in cross section, and is only good for working with rope.
Belaying pins, on the other hand, were made with wood or metal. All of them, Marlinspikes, Fid and Belaying Pins, were exceptional at knocking heads during a mutiny, when all other weapons were locked up below.

“I think that when the lies are all told and forgot the truth will be there yet. It dont move about from place to place and it dont change from time to time. You cant corrupt it any more than you can salt salt.” - Cormac McCarthy
To AS' credit, he has correctly identified the fact that the pronoun in the second part of my compound sentence referred to the subject of the first part, not the predicate object of the first part, as was intended. Thus, his point was to make a friendly pun at my expense.
