    Nope. I heard it from "the old days" when dealing with tent floors made from the same material as Walmart's blue tarps...it definitely makes sense for those. Maybe it's not as important with silnylon...

    I always stuff mine so I haven't tested it...just makes sense, though.

    Anyone else out there have experience with stressing a tarp in the same place every time?

    I can tell you that stuffing a Tarptent, over time, made a lot of nasty looking crinkles in the fabric that just will not come out .... and I have a couple of holes coming through on those worn spots.
