Video First Night out in the Hammock Hot Tent

No snow yet but perfect conditions for a test run in the field of my, well its not quite full on winter yet, kit.
Rather happy with the results with a total pack weight of around 26lbs plus minus (tent, wood stove and Hammock setup with 20* quilts is about 11lbs total)
Surprisingly the Tent did not condense any moisture on it overnight considering it was foggy....but under cover of big trees plus a very faint breeze kept the moisture at bay. I did keep the back door unzipped and front door swung open.

It sure was cozy inside with the stove going.
Night time temps where around 3c

Interesting! Looks like a LOT of work to set up, but a nice payoff as well.

Bikepacking on a trials bike. That's hardcore. I'm envious.

I'm thinking into the 20f's for this hot tent then switch to my Cotton Canvas if light weight is not a concern.
Only issue with this one is condensation formation and resulting interior snowfall in cold temps...even with the stove going it will not get all the moisture off the walls/roof relative to environmental conditions...

Trials gets me to places in the mountains here in which hoofing it takes way way way too long.

It is really easy to set up....can take just a bit longer to set up compared to say using a 12' tarp with tie outs, doors and all the goodies.
Can take longer to find and saw the 4 posts though you can get away with 2...one on each corner of the long wall and tie out the 2 center lines to a tree or stake. Then the time it takes to assemble the stove collect wood but the end result is glorious comfort as dinner time rolls in and you bathe in the warmth till its time to wrap oneself into the downy goodness.
Is a joy to take the dampness and chill off on those below 10c/50f days

    All a compromise...

Indeed. Most folks don't know the capabilities of a trials bike. off-road like a jeep. I had an opportunity to watch a nationals competition in Montour Falls, NY.

I have a canvas scout tent. 7.5' long. Not enough for my 11 foot hammock I don't think. Unless I can get a diagonal hang inside, it's 9.5' wide and 7' tall. I like your setup a lot.

    Wow. That is impressive.
