    Question D Rings and Grosgrain

I'm looking to make a tarp and need some help ordering supplies.

I'm planning on ordering 3/4" beastee D rings for my tarp tie out points.

Would I order the 5/8" grosgrain to fit on the 3/4" D-Rings?

Is 5/8" grosgrain the best size to order? Weight doesn't matter.

Also I have a continuous ridgeline from Dutch. Would the Beastee D-Rings fit the Tato Tarp connectors?

    Thanks!

5/8 would work I believe, may be alittle shorter then you want. I think 1" may be better as it will twist less and be more snug.

I would go with grosgrain that is at least as wide (or if possible a hair wider) than the D-ring you intend to use. For a 3/4" D-ring, you might consider 7/8" polyester grosgrain, if you can find something suitable. If you go with ribbon skinnier than your ring, the ring may have the tendency to rotate undesirably.

The 3/4" ring are pretty beastly.

For the record I've always used 1/2", with both 7/8 and 5/8 grosgrain.

I match the grosgrain to the ring, put a row of stitches right behind it so that it can't rotate. Seems to be more of an issue with the regular d-rings than the Beastee rings, but a row of stitches fixes both.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad I asked. I was trying to match it up, but the options were not the same. I think I'll go with the 3/4 d rings and 1 inch grosgrain.

I do this as well and it works for me. It also helps to keep the grosgrain togther evenly when I'm stitching it on the tarp/hammock.
