Hi all! I'm an Assistant Scoutmaster for my sons' Scout troop and love to go camping with the troop but hate how my back feels in the mornings. So I started investigating hammocks. I almost got the WBBB but then I started looking at all the DIY stuff and how easy (and less expensive) it appears to be.
After watching XTrekker's videos and several others on youtube, I think I'm going to make an 11' DL with a bug net using Xtrekker's sewing and gathering but Warbonnet's ridgeline and suspension attachment. I'm probably not going to have the zipper go all the way around either. Just have to figure out how to sew the zipper to the hammock on only one layer where the layers are separated. Any thoughts?
I found this site a little too late for the Fall MAHHA last month but I'm looking forward to the possibility of being at the Spring MAHHA next year. I'm only about 20min away from Pine Grove Furnace SP and 5min from Caledonia.
Thanks,
Kevin
