I'm relatively new to the group... Is this something that's been done in the past during the winter? Frog lake would be an easily accessible location for most people. Are you thinking the actual frog lake or backpack the 2 miles into the lower twin lake from the trailhead?

Yes Richard,
We held our 5th Annual "Yeti" winter hang last year.
We have been holding at Frog lake. Park in the Snow Park and hike the 1 mile in to the Frog Lake campground.
It is a perfect place to hang.. lots of great trees. Most of us pull a Pulk sled in with our gear.. water etc.

Don't worry if you don't have a pulk- it's a short easy walk with a backpack.
Agreed.. but I need the pulk cause I bring too much stuff.. Makes it easy to haul in wood, water, and dutch ovens.
But you certainly do not need one.

The Yeti usually falls on a weekend between mid Jan - mid Feb. We plan for Friday - Sunday. Most arrange to arrive sometime Friday, with or without daylight. Majority of folks tend to stay through Sunday. Saturday is a good day for napping, Govt Camp, hammock show n' tell, or exploring Frog lake.
I'd be interested to see ya'll again.

I live up in the Rhody area, on Mt Hood. I cannot do this, this year but wondering if everyone is welcome. I have family care, that I cannot do any extra activities currently but when they end, I really will be out doing hangs.
