need to borrow a CCF pad

Is anyone willing to loan me their Hennessey SuperShelter OCF pad?

I would like to use it as a pattern to make an IX (Insultex) Insert of the same shape, for extending the temp limit of a SS. It will be inserted between the hammock and the OCF pad, with loops in the corners to keep it in place. I expect it to extend the SS at least 15*F, maybe more!

I'll only need it for one day, and I'll ship it back with an IX Insert for you to keep!

    Thank you!

Cannibal beat me to this. Mine is sitting on the shelf as well. If you need mine, let me know.

Do you have any pictures of Insultex? Why not make a liner for the entire SS instead of just the pad?

That's a good idea as well. Do you envision it as permanently sewn in, or removable (velcro)?

Might be a bit tough to stow, since IX is incompressible.

I was thinking velcro. I don't know how warm Insultex actually gets, so removable would probably be best. What I was thinking is a JRB Nest made out of the Insultex for the inside of the SS.

My goal would be to eliminate the OCF pad. If Mac's Entyre Insultex Supershelter Liner alone gives equal warmth as the stock SS with OCF pad, but the same stowed size, I know which one I'd choose.

If you like the product name and idea, I gift them to you royalty free. Just send me a good prototype! If you really want to go high-end, I'll have some coyote tan or Multi-cam Gore-Tex shipped to you.

If I get the JRB Nest that I long for, wouldn't my SS be unnecessary and a waste of money? But, if I could get the same functionality from the SS as an UQ, I would be quite happy. I like how the SS is extremely water and wind resistant, but I think the OCF pad is bulky for what insulation it provides. Even if Insultex was the same bulk and warmth as the stock SS with OCF, I still think I'd like the completely lined SS because it would be one less thing to attach.
