Question Has Anybody Heard About HH's Winter Tarp

At Trail Days last year, Tom was debuting his new take on a winter tarp. It was a small thing, but did seem to cover the hammock pretty well. Kind of reminded me of the Eureka Chrysalis contraption in appearance. Since he's gone ahead and put the Deep Jungles (but not the Deep Winters???) on the website, I was hoping he'd have those up there too. Alas, nothing. I probably should have bought one at Trail Days, but I was running low on funnel cake money at the time and a man must have his priorities.

Anyway, just wondering if anybody has heard anything. I know we've got some pretty hardcore HH fans here so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Pardon my ignorance, but what would be the benefits of a "winter" tarp? Would it help with keeping warmth within the camping hammock? :/ Sorry I'm a bit of a newbie..

    Thanks

More coverage to block out the cold wind and snow/rain. Usually comes with modified "doors" at either end.

Here's a picture of my old school SuperFly. They are more refined these days, but you can see the basic idea.

OT, but what's up with linking your blog in every one of your posts, garden hammock? Does it really add anything to the discussion?

As far as Tom's winter tarp setup, I looked up the Eureka Chrysalis and I've gotta say I am not a fan. One of the biggest advantages of the full coverage of a winter tarp is that it protects both the top AND bottom of the hammock, both from wind and from things like fog condensation, rain splashing, and so forth.

The Chrysalis looks more like an overcover than a replacement for a tarp, to me - how similar is Tom's winter tarp to this design???

Burger King now has Funnel Cake sticks .... not really as good as Funnel Cakes but hey when you can't get the real thing .... err ... what was this string about?

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

Only in general does it resemble that Eureka thing. The HH model doesn't have a bottom. It was pretty true to Tom's minimalist approach to tarps; it was very form-fitting.
