Appalachian Trail: Roan Highlands section hike

    Hello hangers!

This is my first time sharing a Trip Report. This was a great trip and I will be going back again (and often). My first hiking trip with this particular friend (old friend from college), but he was a GREAT trail partner! Below is a link to the full report. Feel free to ask any questions or let me know suggestions on how to improve these! Thanks.

AT: Carver's Gap to 19E overnighter

Very nice. My youngest son wants to go there next summer. Looks like a blast.

Thanks to both of you! It is well worth it. It's a rare spot on the AT wear the trees open up and you get a FULL VIEW of the mountains. It's pretty breathtaking...

Knob of the tumbling hats! Makes absolute sense to people that venture there.

LOL! Yes, the raccoons in the valley have some of the nicest hat collections on the entire eastern seaboard!

I enjoyed the video, it brought back some memories of being winded going up those hills. But he views make up for it. Loved the lighting and clouds on the balds

Love this AT section. Just did Iron Mountain to 19E in September. Nothing like busting out of the woods at Cloudlands and then having wide open views for most of the rest of the day.

Looks like a great trip. Thanks for sharing.

I've seen quite a few videos of people doing that section. I have yet to make it there, but it is on my list. Great video, and I enjoyed your full trip report as well. Keep on doing it man, glad you're back on the trails!
