Yes, I would be astonished if two full zippers plus netting came in under 8 oz.

Does it zip onto the hammock on both sides? Ill have to take a look. I wasnt aware there was one.

Ill have to put a disclaimer in my sig that Im not concerned with weight.
My thoughts exactly. I finally cut the (for me) irritating net off of my HH Explorer and now use WB's net. OK, it is several oz heavier than the stock HH net, but well worth it to me. Plus I can use it on other hammocks if needed.
But if I added zippers on each side of one of my top loader hammocks, I would reduce the weight advantage quite a bit, compared to just using the WB net. I really like it.
