I will 2nd the Kahtoola Microspikes recommendation. I will never not have a pair in the winter. Blows YakTraks out of the water. Almost mini-crampon ish.

“The word hammockable (Meaning: two trees that are the perfect distance apart between which a hammock can be hung) is not in the dictionary, but it should be.”
Looked like a real good time. Winter hanging is fun and it really doesn't matter what you use as long as you stay warm. I started with a MSS system. Worked great. Just bulky and heavy. Now love the down. Just bought a pair of the OR gators love them. The micro spikes are on my Christmas list.
Take care,
Al
Welcome to HF, glad you had a good experience the first time out. Beautiful campsite, I've seen the Cascades in the fall a few times, but never got back out there in the winter. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Looks like a great trip! Makes me want to pack up my gear and head out. Thanks for sharing!
