EE prospect short or HG Phoenix

I ordered a 30 short EE prospect, mostly due to price but just noticed the HG Phoenix 30 is only $26 more. I think I can get away with a 3/4 under quilt just fine as I am a warm sleeper and would carry a sit pad but this will be my first under quilt and I'd like to try and get something that I would be happy with. I know the basic differences in the two but wondering which one would you get? I still have time to cancel the EE and strongly thinking I will.

:There is a big difference in them as one is down and one is synthetic. Pack space weight effectiveness in less then ideal circumstances. Nothing wrong with syn though but depends on your camping style do you walk in 1-3 miles or 8+. I also don't see a phenoix 30 see 20 and 40 I'm sure they make a 30 though.

The 30 is the 40 with 2 oz of overfill and with a note. I will be walking 8-15 miles hopefully with the setup. I guess I answered my own question but curious what others thought... The Phoenix will be about 14 oz vs 17 oz and fit into a 4 litter sack vs a 6 litter. The style of cuts are different since the prospect is a rectangle and the Phoenix is tapered boy style. I think I'll just cancel out the EE for the HG.

I use a Hammock Gear Phoenix 40 w/2oz of extra down and slept comfortably in 24 degrees (14 deg wind chill). Exceptional quality gear! John
