Tie Dye 1.9 Ripstop Nylon

Just wondering if anyone has tie dye-ed 1.9 ripstop before. Is there a certain dye recipe for nylon? Are there good patterns for hammocks? Any walkthroughs or youtube videos? Is it best to tie dye white or a certain color fabric?

The article from kitsapcowboyools good but you will need the RIT dye that is specifically meant for synthetics. Not the regular kind. It will say it specifically on the front.

I use the RIT for synthetics when I dye muletape and bull line. I have also dyed Yeti lids.

The black didn't work so well. No where near dark enough. The red did okay.
