They are all more comfortable than sleeping on Terra-Firma.

Is it the general consensus that longer hammocks are more comfortable? Meaning length of the hammock is more important than the width?

I can only speak for myself. I started with an ENO Doublenest, which is 9'4" long and about 74" wide. I certainly got a decent nights sleep, and it started me on my hammock obsession. I picked up a Warbonnet Traveler and was immediately hooked on the longer lay of an 11' hammock. I'm 5'8" and it made a difference to me. I have found that 11' is what works for me, and the width is a bit more flexible. I can sleep comfortably in 60" material which usually ends up around 58" wide, but prefer somewhere around 65-66". Anything wider seems to add too much material and you get a little flop, but I can deal with that if I need to. Long story short, I find the length to be more important. The great thing is they say, hang your own hang. The journey to what works for you is part of the fun!

I just got a Dutch 11' netless. It's very comfortable and seems very well made. A little later in the season here in Ga we'll need a bug net so I'll go to my Dangerbird. I've spent many good nights in it. I love the material, gives a flat lay. My wife swears by her WBBB. I've also got a TTTG Switchback that I like slot. So many choices out there and they all have their advantages.

Gathered end hammocks give me too much calf pressure so I switched to a BMBH Deluxe and I love it.

Ask anyone this question and the most likely answer will be the one they own. It's not very scientific but you will get a good list of what hammocks are available to try outs

I think it's really dependent on user size. My first model was an ENO doublenest, but now think my WB blackbird xlc is way more comfy.

I just went out with my new Little Shop of Hammocks Warrior 11' in the Multicam 1.9 fabric this past weekend and I found it to be more comfortable than my previous two hammocks: a Henenssy Expededition Asym Zip and a Dutchware Netless 11' Hexon 1.0...

I will say that it could have been more comfortable to me because the Hennessy is a 10' length and the Dutchware Hexon 1.0 is a very light, stretchy fabric.

The 11' length and the strength of the 1.9 fabric of the Warrior seem to be an ideal combo for me (5'11", 180lbs).

I have a Warbonnet Blackbird & a TTTG Switchback, both in double layer 1.1 fabric. By far, I reach for the Switchback for the best nights' sleep. I like them both, but use the Switchback most.
