I was in Harbor Freight today and they have a digital postal scale for $19 bucks. Weighs items up to 11 pounds. Almost bought it, but the wife was with me. Guess I'll go tomorrow while shes at work. BD

I would check to see if it measures in .1 oz accuracy.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

Just hung my first Speer type hammock today. Am testing out the length I want. Will hem the edges soon. My first ever sewing project. It's gonna be a monster. Around 11'. Maybe a little less.
    I'm only 5'7
Have been thinking of trying to make a bug bivy but am wondering if I can
pull it off. I did contact www.specialtyoutdoors.com and ask them what they would charge to make me one. I got a quote of $50.00 plus materials. Materials look pretty cheap from www.questoutfitters.com
    Still trying to decide.

Quest is a great place for the materials. I'll post some pictures of the one I made before vacation. It turned out fairly well.
