Looking for a Bridge Hammock Tarp Suggestion?

I scored a new/unused Gossamer Gear Spinn Twin tarp to use with my WBRR bridge hammock setup. I took it out for a two-nighter this week and found it to be an excellent option, providing more than adequate coverage. The dimensions at the head end are wider than those at the foot end, just like the WBRR. Using my hiking poles, I was able to fashion a nice porch area near the head of my tent. I may add a Grizz Beak to the mix later but for now this looks like it will be more than enough protection (I've used as small as a 6 x 9 tarp successfully with my bridge).

The new GG Twinn Tarps are now made of silnylon and are a little pricey (http://gossamergear.com/twinn-tarp.html) ; however, a DIY'er can easily put one of these together as it is not complicated. Please see the dimensions and pics below.

    Dimensions
117” (297 cm) - length of ridgeline (NOTE: WBRR is 78'' long)
103” (279 cm) – total width of front of tarp (58” per side)
84” (211 cm) – total width of rear of tarp (42” per side)

Hi, G-nut. Sounds like a good score. Congrats.
I would take issue with someone telling me my RR is only 78" long. But that's because it's 30 degrees, up here in Jersey. We want the WHOLE Ridgerunner enclosed, in this kind of weather, so we measure from outside of the triangle. ( closer to 114" long...).
    Just a different perspective.
But again, good score, and hope you enjoy your hangs in the coming year!
    Ted

You have Summer and Shoulder seasons up there don't you? This tarp may work good for you then.
I just spent the last two days below freezing (with 15-20 mph winds) in Savage Gulf, TN and it didn't start spitting freezing rain until we were hiking out. I was plenty comfy temp-wise with my 3/4 length lynx underquilt and my 25-degree Top Quilt, sock, this tarp, etc. I get your point though...my rig for the deep winter is a Cuben sock with integrated Cuben tarp. We stayed at Alum Gap Thursday night and Stone Door Friday night. Were you hiking with your son? I stopped and chatted with a gent halfway up Stone Door. That wasn't you was it? We may want to consider a Rocket City hike and hang sometime. G-Nut

Well dang, I was at Alum on Thursday night. I'll bet you were over on site #9. I was on #3 right beside the guy with his son. What did you think about the "loud" family? I think that was the loudest family I've ever camped near I'm bummed that I could have met you on the trail and missed out this close. I parked at the Stone Door area did the Stone Door Trail to Big Creek Gulf Trail up to Alum, and then out on Big Creek Rim Trail.

Yup, that was us on site #9. WRT the loud folks, I wonder who drew the short straw and had to haul that circus tent in and out!

Funny. That tent couldn't have been light. I ran into the guy and his son who camped on #4 on the way out on Friday and he said the lady came over and apologized to him for them being so loud. She didn't come see me What did you think about that wind? I had one pine snap about 30 feet from my hammock. Wish I'd come by now but sometimes you never know if people want to be left alone or talk.

You know that's right! Brought the big saw this time. We had a great fire going for sure. So happy to see it rain so the burn ban could be lifted. Camping in the winter without a Ranger TV just ain't right.

HNO... you recognize my deep winter setup??
