Atlanta GA area, Snow in the forecast

So there's a 50% chance of <1" of snow Friday (Jan 6) evening, and another smaller chance Sat. Thinking of bagging my 10/10 of the 12 night challenge that night in my back yard. That would be neat if it actually snowed.

Of course, this far out it is subject to change and probably won't materialize, but we'll see!

Probably will do some type of frozen precip. I'm heading out on the trail Friday. Been couped up too long!

Where are the birkheads? I live north of Charlotte so the mountains are about a 2 hour drive for me.

Central NC, about 30min south of Greensboro. I head up to Asheboro every couple months to visit friends and backpack in the Birkhead Mountains Wilderness normally. Car camped at Badin Lake, in Uwharrie, last time though. Very cool!

That's awesome. I go over to the south side of uwharrie and hike down in that area. Usually start at the trailhead off of 27. I am trying to get a trip planned soon to test out new gear.
