    Dbl Layer SBPro

Well I had my original SBPro netting rip, I got it replaced and had it sitting around the house for awhile trying to figure out what to do with it. I had thought of just trimming the netting completely off and using it as a netless hammock. But then all this talk came about all the Dbl Layer hammocks out, so I decided I was going to make my SBpro into a Dbl layer.

I actually had my mom do the sewing, but basically what I did is sew both hammocks togeter to make the double layer. I kept the zipper from the original SBPro and that is now for the opening of the pad pocket. The first time it was used was at the Thanksgiving weekend hang in the Red River Gorge. It worked out good even with the temperature getting into the mid 20's. I was using a no-sew SPE and my military poncho/liner UQ and 20* synthetic sleeping bag. I slept very warm until about 12 midnightwhen I started to feel some cold. I got up and out of the hammock to water the trees and grabbed my sit pad and threw it back into the hammock. After that I slept pretty much the rest of the night.

As I woke up the in the morning I found out why I was getting cold. The head end of my UQ had came uncinched was letting the cold night air in. But overall it worked out great. here is a small video i shot at the hang.

Sorry about the sound quality, but hope everyone enjoys.

Way to make lemonade out of lemons!
Looks good and that's a fitting use for a retired hammock; hammock recycling ala ridgepsyco.

Chris, that is way cool. Well done too.
