    Dynaglide Suspension

I'm finishing up my DIY double layer and for testing just HAD to try the Dynaglide. I used the standard HH fold and melt holes. Looped one end of the Dyna and attached like shown in another thread. I wasn't ready to cut a length yet, so I decided to use a Munter Hitch to attach to the biner. I only did it on one end, and since it didn't drop me I'll probably do the other end.

Has anyone else tried this yet?

Cajun, I did a destruct on the Dyanglide configured in a whoopie sling yesterday.

According to my rusty calcs, it gave at around 930 pounds. Someone else did a dead weight lift off a scale and got, IIRC 830 pounds.

I used dynaglide whoopie slings I made to suspend the hammock I slept in Christmas Eve at my son's apartment. I used a lark's head on the channel gathered ends of my TrekLight, and toggles from the webbing straps for the adjustable loop end. 180 lbs.( shhhh!) My husband was shaking his head as he fingered the small diameter line. But we talked through the math ( his forte, not mine) and he had to agree it should work with lots of margin for safety, etc. And of course it did. Go for it! I have now made four sets of whoopies, three sets as gifts, so I felt I had to be willing to test them before I could give them.

Thanks, turtlelady. I was considering giving this a try as well. I weigh 106, so I was thinking it should work out ok for me, but I was hoping someone else would give it a try first!

I would be worried about it slicing my hammock body and straps. Maybe there something you could put there that might protect either of those ends?

What about wrapping around more times with the larkspur? Do you think that would help distribute the force a little better?

Small line diameter cutting hammock fabric

I run my line threw a small piece of this fish tank bubbler tubing and then threw the channel in my hammock to increase the diameter to protect the hammock fabric from the line its self.

Just a small section. Maybe 3 or 4 inches long, inside the channel.
