"DIY gear supply" Polly tree hugger straps?

    Hey guys viper here!
Well I have tried a few different kinds of tree straps and haven't had any issues with them accept for my nylon ones always stretch a lot.
So obviously not something two good for suspension.
So I ordered the 1500lbs break strength Polly straps from DIY gear supply, I used the, once had about 300lbs in it and was working fine (only sat in it about half an hour though.) and then went to set them up in my backyard on a 4X4 holding up my deck and then after about 5 minutes later my strap was about 90% like riped in half -_- I was using the new Dutch clips with this 1inch Polly strapping.
Anyone els had any issues with these straps or did I get a bad piece?
And also I was rocking back and forth slightly, so was it the rocking or Dutch clips that was making it rip? Or just think a bad piece?

I was really liking how thin and light this strapping was but also don't wana end up on the ground obviously, any ideas/imput? Thanks guys!

I doubt that it was a bad piece. Exactly where did it tear? How did you have the Dutch clip positioned...centered...off to one side...which side?

Did the webbing tear on a sharp corner of the post?...etc.

And rocking never helps webbing wrapped around corners/edges.

It tore on the corner but also where the Dutch clip was.
So I don't want the Dutch clip right in the middle? Why is that?

Less stress. The straighter the webbing passes through the clip, the less it acts like tearing a piece of paper down across a sharp counter edge.

    Lightbulb Ripped webbing

http://www.readystrap.com/ get a pair of 6,600lb ones for 35 cents a foot, and the quality of this guys work is awesome, alittle heavy duty but you will have complete peice of mind. Also when using a 4x4 post i find it safer on your suspetion to put a lag hook or loop permanently in the post and use a carabiner, if your home your not worried about pack weight

+1 on the Dutch Clip positioning (DAMHIK). It's also best to do at least two wraps with the straps around the post. I like the lighter weight straps, but I'm only 150#. Would go with the heavier ones if I ever bulk up.
