    Critique my (proposed) setup please

This is my planned setup, I have been reading up and trying to decide what will be best for me. I am 5'10 and around 200 pounds. I live in BC so it rains a lot.

Dream hammock - Darien - 10ft long, 64 inches wide, 1.6oz hyperd, continuous loop suspension, (no tie outs not sure if need/want them?)

Dutch hardware - whoopie hook suspension, 5foot dyneema/polypro huggers, 7/64 amsteel slings with whoopie hooks, amsteel continuous loop(redundant?), two titanium dutch clips
two stingerz with 12ft of reflect-it, 25feet of lash it

    Warbonnet Outdoors - Mamajamba tarp, 8 7"stakes

So that's the list I have put together, it's not all in order of function but rather who I bought it from. The stingers are for the tarp and so is the 25ft of lash it and stakes. Down the line I will get an EE top quilt and under quilt, Maybe both from loco libre not sure yet.
What am I missing? What can I change to cut some weight? I'm not entirely opposed to a netless hammock and bugnet but there's always **** loads of mosquitos here so I thought integrated net would be nice.

I'm a complete noob with hammocks, but this is a set up I would like to hike/camp with so I am trying to keep things light.

    Thanks!

Welcome, I do not have a Dream Hammock (yet) but hear nothing but "Raven",,,,,I mean rave reviews about papa smurf and DH. As you will see, there will be as many different opinions as there are members but your set-up looks great! If I were to have 1 suggestion it would be to consider an 11 ft DH. Some will say it's not necessary but it seems most feel the extra foot gives a much more comfortable lay with minimal weight gain. Good luck and Enjoy the addiction/hobby

Quilts should definitely be on the list. But if you have the funds, perhaps getting a cuben fiber tarp? They are incredibly light and excel in wet weather. There's a noticeable difference carrying a wet silnylon tarp vs a cuben fiber one.

I hear a lot about 11 foot vs 10 foot hammocks, I'm not really sure what that one foot does for you? How does it make it different?
I won't be able to afford a cuben fibre tarp right off the bat.
Quilts are on my list but I haven't decided what I want yet. I was thinking of 20 Degree top and bottom, but I don't like the idea of a 3/4 UQ, and was thinking of 7/8 or around 65".

I'd definitely go with 11' or more.
Also Climashield quilts are a good option for wet weather quilts.
You hammock suspension list looks good tho I prefer 15 straps and buckles.
Also I'm guessing you're going with a split Ridgeline.
    Look into continuous RL.
I use 35' of lawson glow wire or reflect it with duel stingerz.
You'll also need guy lines for your tarp...I suggest reflect it or non reflective lash/zing it. Your choice on hardware or nowear(knots).
I went through lots of set ups to find what I like. Everyone has different tastes your job is to find something that suits you.

I have the 25ft of lash it on there for the tarp guy lines, I didn't think about the ridgeline! thanks for pointing that one out.

At your height 10' or 11' is kind of a toss up and comes down to personal preference. 10' should be OK for you but I would go a few inches wider. Tie outs on the hammock are up to you, but I would seriously consider quilt hooks.

Lots of rain?? If be looking at the Superfly. Doors can be a blessing in bad weather.

No need for 2 sets of continuous loops.

You will need bottom insulation at the very minimum- even during summer. I would get a less expensive hammock to have money for an UQ (Arrowhead Equipment Jarbidge is the best deal of there)

Stingerz are about the best option for ends only RL, in my opinion. I'm not a fan of continuous RL's, but that's something you'll have to decide for yourself.

I'm 5'6" and length does matter.

I sleep every night in a 10' DH, but my 11" BIAS WW is still a better hang. Larger sweet spot, easier to hit, and it's a lot better on the diagonal.

no less than 56" and up to 60" wide as well. Tame any loose material with Knotty Mods.

    Lol np
I got 25' for my guys too. Started with 5' each, after my 3" eye splice and tail bury I ended up with little over 4'.
