Yes, that is my experience. If above 75F or so when I go to sleep my UQ is off to the side. As the night cools down and my metabolism slows I'll slide the UQ under me. Bug net is important too - I prefer the 'Fronkey style' but the 'HUG bugnet' is easy to make and works well too.

Most do. I'll offer this pad video for some insight.

Any suggestions? Thanks for any recommendations
I use a 40° 3/4 length in the summer in NH. The reason I do it though is because I tend to do a lot of mileage in the summer since I can get away with carrying a way lighter pack. I think in your case doing short overnighters, I'd probably carry a 20° 3/4 UQ or even a full length 20°. The extra ounces are with the assurance if you're only doing a few miles. Since I know there was a height question - for reference, I'm 6'4" - 235lbs.

UC recommendations for 11' Dutchwear for summer in the NH Whites

I'm curious about something. If I go with a 20 deg UC and want to "cool it off" can you just create a bit of a gap with the UC suspension to get a little air flow? I'm looking at the Dutchwear Edition HG with his hooks etc.

I don't see why not, but I don't have any first hand experience doing it, Ive always gotten plenty of venting from just moving my top quilt a bit.

Yes it will work. But I, too, have never had the need. I just poke a leg out of the TQ until I cool down, done.
