    Hammock Fabric Needed!

    Hello all,

I have been looking around for what seems like forever trying to find a particular fabric pattern for a hammock. I really want an urban camo pattern like this:
    1982-Urban.jpg

rockywoods.com has something, but it is coated. I thought I would reach out and see if anyone knows of some places that I could look, or knows where I can get what i'm looking for. (excluding rsbtr because I have looked there a ton)

I will note that I would be interested in anything that has the digital camo look and is dark, but I'm really looking for a greyish urban camo.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

    Have you looked on Ebay?

I've had some success finding some unusual nylon fabrics before. The ebay store for RRT trading post has been very good to work with in my experiences and I have purchased from them a number of times now. They have a rotating stock but I couldn't find any urban currently.

I could also suggest textile specialist on Ebay as well as I have a couple of positive experiences with them. Again, nothing exactly like you're looking for currently. ACU camo could be similar, but it has a very faded greenish/grey look and isn't that dark.

All I could find in a brief search was the NWU1 digicam, which is the naval color pattern.

I can't recall ever seeing the urban digicam print on a basic and uncoated nylon fabric before. Although I wouldn't recommend it for hammock fabric, if you had to have it, you can find poly-cotton and cotton fabrics in this pattern.

With RBTR and their OutdoorINK line, it could always be a future thing that this fabric could be custom printed with your print.

You can probably find what you want from one of the cottage vendors who frequent HF, but if not try viewing items from eBay seller jens_buys and searching for "ACU".

Have you checked out A-Tacs AU camo? It's not a digital camo so you may not like it, but it is designed for arid urban environments.

I have looked on Ebay and have seen those naval patterns. I wouldn't mind them but it appears that they are coated, and from what I have been told so far I cannot use coated materials.I have thought about reaching out to RBTR and seeing if they had anything in the works...

Yes, I have seen the A-Tacs also. It looks very cool and is something that i have noted, just not exactly what I want right now.

With the coating concern, you wouldn't want to use any fabric that is coated to the point of being non-breathable, such as silicone or polyurethane coated fabrics. Many outdoor fabrics have a dwr coating, but these are still breathable and suitable for Hammocks. The dwr stands for durable water resistant. These aren't waterproof, only resistant. The two naval camo links I posted are breathable and only have a dwr coating.
Take a look at ripstop by the rolls outdoorINK stuff sack kit. They have the blotch camo version which has a very similar pattern and color to the urban digital. If you reached out to them, I wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't be able to print some of that pattern and color scheme.

Looks kinda like my Warbonnet Superfly. It's a digital tiger stripe pattern. Check it out for current availability.
