Prospective Convert from Earth to Heaven

Hello HF members. I am looking at getting into hammock camping. I have been an ultra light backpacker for years and have recently started camping off my dualsport motorcycle. One of my riding buddies hangs on our trips and I have been impressed with his gear.

I really like the idea of not sleeping on rocks and the different sleep system setups.

I enjoy DIY projects and working with paracord.

My current plan is to get a Warbonnet Blackbird XLC with an underquilt and topquilt. I want to cover the hammock with a Superfly tarp. The initial investment is a little daunting, but I am excited to get into the hobby and hopefully get a better nights sleep.

I am 6'1" 225lbs, so I will probably be looking for the more robust setups available. Get ready for a bunch of noob questions.
