Yes...Google Gathland State Park which is where the parking lot is. If you want an interesting little "historical" side trip, not too far from there is Washington Monument State Park where the first Washington Monument is, up near the AT. It looks nothing like the one in DC. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Gathland has some Civil War history to it. Just go online and google both of those places for more info. Tell you daughter that we'd love to have her come hang with us.
