12 tie outs (6 per side) to make the doors...no side pull-outs as I use grip clips in the winter, but if I ever use this tarp in warmer weather, I remove the grip clips and hang it high.

    19.4 oz sealed...HUGE!

Thanks everybody. I, too, have been making do with a Deluxe. I've gotten down to 28, w/10 mph winds. Pretty balmy for most of you. I've been using the poncho on one end, just to keep my gear really dry. It works, but it is not pretty, and I must admit my feminine side likes pretty. I have on order a Grizz Beak and that does look pretty! I don't need, but I do want a tent like tarp (I know Cannibal understands the want/need equation). Thanks for all the imput, you all are great

I had similar slow response with my MacCat but got very lucky with the winter tarp. It was probably right before school started. I traded email with Brian one day and had the tarp not a week later.

Brian PM me back. He has sent out a prototype of his Winter Tarp to some lucky someone. He stated to keep checking his website as there will be two new products on there soon. Two .... hmmm?

To: the "lucky someone". Please post photos and field data. Interested in protection against wind blown dry powder snow. Either the settled snow or new falling cold dry snow. Also, my limited (technically not winter, it was still autumn) camping in snow was during the ground dwelling era. Always had an issue with the body vapor condensing then dripping off or freezing on the tent side/top. Any similar problems with what I'm assuming is a relatively tightly sealed up winter tarp?

No, in most cases there is plenty enough ventilation to prevent most condensation. Remember, your hammock suspension still has to exit the tarp. Those small holes alone provide a lot of ventilation. Add a gap of a couple/few inches from the ground and you've got all the ventilation you'll need while still keeping the bad stuff on the other side of the tarp.

Does the "lucky person" already know who they are?

    Or is this a surprise?

    Is it me?

I'd be willing to bet that there is someone sitting on the other side of their screen with a big poop-eating-grin on their face.
I just wish it was me.
