There are two kinds of people in the world: those who say there are two kinds of people, and all the others.
I woke up this morning in my bed, wishing I was waking up in my hammock. Friday and Saturday were 2 of the best night's sleep I've ever gotten in a hammock. I attribute this to my stacking of quilts, the Dutch sock providing a cozy micro climate, and my new hexon 1.6 hammock. Man, I don't remember sleeping that comfortably in a long time.
I snapped a few pictures around camp of the goings on.

A splash of color in an otherwise drab world, olive drab that is.
The was much tomwoolery at this hang. Here we see a de-rak'd Dutchman and Capt Moonboots.
A common sight at these gatherings, folks helping other folks get dialed in. Never hesitate to ask for help because folks never hesitate to offer help. Not to mention, you get to check out all sorts of gear.
Stacked hammocks at an HF gathering ?!?!
No, look closely and you will see 3 hammocks hanging using but 4 trees. A fine way for a family to hang, father and sons all three in the trees.

Honor guide me
Had a great time!! Thanks to all the organizers, the AMAZING cooks, the company, the old times, the new timers, the experts, the noobs, the in-betweens, the raffle contributors, the generous vendors, and the good spirits (not the booze spirit... well maybe a little)! There were no complaints but there was plenty of laughter! The pine barrons provided a beautiful setting for a great time! It was great to see old friends and make new ones.
The Coup De Gras De Hang!
John aka Suede
I wish I was able to start on friday and spend more time meeting people and checking out gear but I had just enough time to come in and meet some people, eat AMAZING food, hang by a fire and joke with new friends until 1am and then peal out early in the morn.
Planning on making more time for the next hang and coming a little more prepared. Thanks again guys!!!
Nice to put faces to names from HF as well as the Facebook Page and Instagram. Thanks for coming out. Great to see everyone!

Had a swell time meeting some HF members and sleeping in the pine barrens! Wish I had entered the raffle, the grand price UQ looked incredible! I had the chance to try a lot of hammocks, and everyone was really eager to give advice on things. Jay's Clark was a real luxury, I tried out the Chameleon, and I tried a few UL models as well as a Dream Hammock.
The food was incredible too. All in all it was a great time. It was my second group hang and I'm loving the fact that there's such an active group right here in the midatlantic.
My wife was absolutely thrilled with the dolphin, and begged me for several days to hang it on the front porch. She thinks it's the perfect addition to our house just two blocks from the beach.

Thanks for making the wife happy, P47-Chowhound. This is the dolphin's permanent home and he won't be coming back to the NJ Winter Hang to be re-entered in the raffle. The only way he's leaving is if he blows away in the next hurricane or Nor'easter!
