PA - Allegheny National Forest - Morrison Trail - Jan. 27-29

We headed out for a Pennsylvania winter hang, or better known locally as the winter midHHA, on the Morrison Trail of the Allegheny National Forest. After weeks of rain and warm weather we lucked out, had some decently cold weather and some snow.

It was a pleasure meeting everyone that came, and I apologize again for deciding to head out early. Had to take care of some sick little ones.

I didn't get many pictures but what I did take are at: http://www.instagram.com/von.nidda

I'll post them later here for anyone that doesn't have Instagram.

I hope to meet everyone out on the trail again soon. Had a great time thank you.

    I had a great time.

Did not get any pics around the campfire but here is a quick and dirty attempt to get some pictures available:

    https://dactylus.shutterfly.com/pictures/8

They show a quick sequence of my weekend, starting and ending with food. Read the filenames for commentary.

Again shutterfly is not the best, I will try to find a better home for them.

You can simply upload them and not need to host them anywhere using the Insert Image option.

Very very nice! I've got to figure out a way to get out there for one of these hangs.

I removed some out of focus ones and ended up with 37, I thought it made an amusing narrative but did not want to clutter up the thread. I have access to web servers with work and can put together something better later this week.

    link to my humble video.

Had a great time, learned a couple things, trust my DIY UQ a little more now. Anyone else hear / see the deer in camp early Sunday Morning? I heard something walking by my tarp, figured it was my imagination. Jewelbug mentioned it after breakfast, said it sounded like a buck was rubbing a tree (not the right time of the year for that), but the guys from DuBois confirmed it! When I went back down to pack up I found deer tracks from the night before a couple paces from my hammock.

Mountain Pies were the treat Saturday night! We definitely couldn't go hungry

Can't wait to see everyone at the next hang!

p.s. Dactylus, I like your picture at Rimrock looking up at Brad and I, if you watch my video you'll see I was taking video down at you at the same time

Unfortunately I wasnt there to hear the deer, but I did hear someone's desperate calls for help at 4 am Saturday morning

Its funny how much Ahhhh Help! and Ohhhhh Hell! sound alike when your half asleep. Enjoyed your video thanks.

Anyone find a flashlight? It's a LumaPower IncenDio V3+ with a piece of orange paracord tied to it.
