One for the full-time hammock sleepers

I've noticed lately that the pillow I am using tends to make my head sweat. Ultimately, there is an odor and I need to wash it. I need suggestions for a pillow that will keep my head cooler. I've thought about the memory foam pillows but would have to cut it down to size I'm sure. The one I made, very cheap, is about 12 x 20. I plan to modify the existing pillow with a down side and use it exclusively for hiking/camping, but as I sleep full time in the hammock at home, I need an every day solution.

Suggestions?

I use an old, thin baby blanket that I roll up to fit right in the gap under my neck. in hammocks , I find that the thinner the pillow, the better. I sleep in my hammock most nights, and this has been the best solution I've tried. I've been tempted to buy a down stuffed pillow, but I'm afraid it might be too warm for inside every night.

Edit: buckwheat hull pillows are famously cool, low R-value, and hold whatever shape you form them into. Easy to remove/add hulls for ideal bulk. My oldest buckwheat pillow is 21 years old. I sterilize (or at least pasteurize) the hulls every few years simply laundering the covers.

For home, I use a normal bed pillow that I've removed about 1/2 the fill and use a silk pillowcase. Much easier to wash a pillowcase.

I use a Thermarest pillow with more than half the foam stuffing removed. It took me a while to figure out the right amount of fill. I just kept removing it until it was comfortable. I put it in a pillowcase so I can wash as needed.

This is an intriguing option. Explain this sterilization you mentioned?

For the OP, memory foam will not breathe, use down.

Before I settled on AHE's cub pillow for a nightly use pillow, I really liked Nemo's Fillo inflatable pillow (half-inflated, or less). It has a removable pillow case that can be easily washed (dries quickly). There are multiple colors (purple, blue, orange, green, etc) to choose from. I now use the Nemo pillow in my napping hammock.

I like to have something small that fills in the gap behind my neck (and in the cold puts some insulation between me and the chill).
