Hello, New Hanger here

Hi,

My name is Matt. I just got into backpacking last year and this year I'm starting to use a hammock and tarp set up instead of the traditional tent. I friend of mine started using a hammock 2 years ago and has nothing but great things to say.

From what I have read, it takes a lot of trial and error to develop a system that works best for each person. I'm starting with a Hennessy Hex Fly tarp and a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater Pro.

I'm glad I found this forum and look forward to learning from everyone here.

Welcome from Salt Lake City, UT! It does take a little time to get your equipment 'dialed-in' so to speak, but once you do, man oh man is it sweet!

Welcome from Western MA, try to get to one of the group hangs they are always a great opportunity to learn more about different set ups and neat little tricks to make hanging more fun and comfy. Unfortunately they also have the added problem of adding to wish lists and depleting your wallet when you see all the options and extras you can get.
