Does it have a seam on the ridge?

I used 3 yards, for a low volume winter sock.

I was amazed at the effect of insulating my sock. If you add insulation to the bottom of the sock, I think it is important to use an adjustable ridgeline, so you can bring the sock right up to your UQ without compressing it. I don't know how you would do that if your hammock has a fixed, structural ridgeline.

Seam is on the ridge and below. Two pieces of fabric with just over 3ft of width.

The sock pictured has now landed in the USA. Medicine Man will be giving a good test this weekend.

Improvements to my design surely to follow!

How does the flap stay closed if its windy? I would think it would easily flutter open?

    okay... I have to ask......
I have seen the pics, and i am still unclear...

    what is a Sock?

Is this supposed to cover the whole hammock... like snake skins for the HH only BIGGER?

I am guessing that this will add an extra layer of insulation. right?

Yes, like snakeskins, socks slide over the hammock/insulation. They use the dead air space around the hammock to retain the heat that you produce during the night. W/ out it, wind can blow away your heat... leaving you cold. Hope this helps

I like my sock, especially with windy conditions and winter. I made a top adjustable vent for moisture control. Works great ...

Hasn't been a problem. I'd be worried if there were enough wind inside either my Speer Winter Tarp or my BWDD Winter Dream to open the SEEP.

It was very windy at Mt Rogers, even drafty under the tarp, but the SEEP stayed closed so well that I had to open it to allow some damp air to escape!
