Sleeping in hammock gives me a headache.

New to hammock camping and having issues. I've only slept 4 nights in my hammock (2 while backpacking and 2 in my backyard). 3 out of 4 nights I woke up with a headache lasting most of the day.

FYI I'm sleeping in a Warbonnet XLC and using a pillow (sweater in a bag). Though I'm a rookie I have done a fair amount of research on hammocks and hammock camping. I've also watched quite a few videos (mostly Shug's).
I really want to like hammock camping but this headache thing is making me want to return to the ground...

Has anyone else had this problem?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
    -Jessey

Sleeping in hammock gives me a headache.

You have any pictures of your setup? Was your head like super low compared to your feet?

How was the quality of your sleep? Did you sleep straight through and then wake up with a headache or did you toss and turn all night? Sometimes lack of quality sleep can cause headaches. Is it a hydration issue?

I have the same problem but mine is due to a health issue that causes a low heart beat. It took awhile and several headaches but I found the angle that works for me. If I can do it so can you, just take little steps maybe an inch at a time you'll find what works for you.

Don't have any pics at the moment but my feet were only a few inches if any above my head. Definitely didn't sleep great. I tossed and turned a fair amount.

So maybe try making my feet an inch or two higher?
Any thoughts on a the makeshift pillow contributing to the problem?
Was thinking about getting a inflatable pillow so I can adjust the amount of cushioning

I am a side sleeper and use an air pillow. I will adjust the air every setup for the perfect neck support. The only time I have ever got a headache was when my down hat fell off in the night woke and head was super cold.

I get headaches too but it might be due to my missues having a go at me for buying so much gear

I would try having your head be a little higher than your feet. Every time I have slept with my head as the low point I have woken up with a headache too.

Use a little less whiskey before bedtime?

But seriously, the only thing I can think of is maybe too much incline towards your head? Hard to do, especially if using a pillow.

FWIW, I use a small pillow under my neck. I don't like the feeling of a larger pillow lifting my neck up as if I'm on an inclined bed, but perhaps that might work for you?

When you sleep at home, what is it like? Do you usually use a lot of pillows, or do you sleep flat?
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.
