    The prusik won't be a problem, but the figure 8 is a serious pain to untie. That HH spectra is some seriously gripping stuff. But, it CAN be done - and I guess that's the chance you have to take if you want to try an alternate suspension. You'd have to add some sort of bight to your stock lines for most of the methods that are out there.

    What if you put a stick or filed/cut down stake or nail in the middle of that figure 8( or any other) knot? Would that make it more easily reversed after weighting it? Or would that defeat the knot or cause other problems?

    I'd probably worry about having the knot less than completely dressed, but I guess you could try it. To get figure 8's out of my HH spectra, I just used a medium-sized nail set.
