Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
Speaking of FOOD! We ate like royalty. And no, this wasn't car camping even though there were several Dutch ovens and enough kitchen utensils for a banquet! All this was carried 2 miles into the woods. This is our annual event of car camping without the car.
It was nice and cool Friday night with temperatures in the 40's, but warmed up Saturday night to high 60's. Of course the days were 80 and mostly sunny except for a late afternoon shower on Saturday.
As always, the best part was the camaraderie among friends that, thanks to HammockForums, have become extended family.
I didn't stop socializing long enough to take pictures, except for this one, representing the flora of Florida.
Oh! And our chimney fire thanks to a hollow log we found.

Another successful hang with some wonderful people, lots of food, camaraderie and friends.
Started hiking around 11am right behind old dog and O'boy and they were hauling.... you know.
Made it to camp and found a nice spot. The majority of the fellow hangers arrived after us and others the following day to a total of 17-18 I believe.
Friday we enjoyed some nice brats with onions, peppers and some awesome sauerkraut courtesy of Jimj and Jem.
After dinner we did the usual. Hanging around the campfire sharing stories, sharing a beer, some Fred and just laughing. Went to bed early and slept like a rock under a beautiful 50 degree weather.
Saturday morning Tropikal graduated after successfully completing his first ever mountain man breakfast along with some delicious bacon-cheesy grits by oldog and coffee.
Saturday afternoon few of us decide to jump in the creek and boy was that refreshing. The water was just at the right temperature.
At night we enjoyed the delicious Fritolays chilly by Jem and a nice chicken stew by Mad777. Hung around the campfire for a few hours and went to bed. Saturday night was difficult for me as I couldn't handle the 65 degree weather very well but hey that's part of the fun. Woke up Sunday morning had a some apple sauce I stole from my kids and say bye to everyone.
Already looking forward to the next outing. Enjoy the pictures.

Yes, bomber is becoming our official trip photographer. Another great weekend with some of the best people to spend time with in the woods. Some unusual faces, old4hats, thanks for joining us all the way from North Georgia . It was a pleasure spending time around the fire with you. As usual the food was fantastic and more than enough to feed everyone. I might have even made some converts with the Collard Green Soup. Sorry that some were unable to join us due to various reasons but know that you were in our thoughts and prayers. We hope to see y'all on the next hike.

Well folks I have to say that this was one of the best weekends I have had in a very long time. I would like to give much thanks to Olddog and Grinder for meeting me halfway after arriving at the trail head pretty much in the dark. I would not of made to camp with out their help. This was my first Sherpa and I have to say that it was more than I expected, much more. The food was amazing and the company, well you guys are my family through and through. Thank you guys for everything, looking forward to seeing you on trail again... soon. God bless. Cooloz91.
Beautiful spot to hang and great weather it sounds like. Love seeing pictures from different locales than I am used to.
Sharing some pics from this weekend. Thanks to all for a great weekend!
