Hi and welcome!
When I started Hammock camping ( mid 2000's) I borrowed a Hennessey Explorer ASYM and went to Algonquin for a week in May. Maybe not the smartest way to go BUT I needed a couple nights before deciding this was THE way. I also learned the best way to set up the system.
I would recommend borrowing or buying a used Hennessey . They are an easy full system setup. If you've camped before and already have a sleeping pad than just use the sleeping pad underneath you in the hammock to stay warm. Use an open sleeping bag as your top quilt. Try this for a few nights in a row. I find my body needs to adjust to the hammock.
After you've determined if this is the way you want to go then you can spend $$ on lighter systems with underquilt etc.
YMOFWIW.
