I didn't know split ring pliers even existed. They look like a cool little tool to have around - plus, I do fish a few times per year, so I think I can justify the cost Thanks!

Thought I'd follow-up with the outcome of this - I emailed Brandon at Warbonnet to ask what size split rings he was using on the tarp. After sending him some pictures, he is sending 2 replacement ones out to me. Really great customer service. And I learned my lesson - I'll be using a tool that doesn't permanently bend the ring
