Did you just roll the perimeter hem then use thin grossgrain to reinforce along the edge? No triangle reinforcement necessary?asking because I'm about to start my corners but don't know which route to take. I want simplistic

Yes, that is correct. I used 3/8" grosgrain. I wanted to keep the stitching on the rolled hem. The Superfly is done similarly, but usea a 1" grosgrain in the same fashion.
