Also curious about the tube. I get having a breathing tube or whatever, but am baffled by the saran wrap - it it just to keep the tube from getting wet due to the moisture in your breath?

The way I read that, the Saran Wrap was just what was on the tube originally. I'm picturing a cardboard tube situated so as to vent the bag. No Saran Wrap.

    DOH!!!!

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. It didn't even cross my mind that the the tube is FROM the saran wrap packaging, not actually wrapped in saran wrap.

That's what I get for posting on a Monday morning before I've had my coffee

I need to proof read myself more often. Top to bottom was -35deg sleeping bag, myself + clothes, Wool blanket between WBBB dbl. layers as pad, 40 deg bag as UQ, poncho undercover.
My bad, just the breather tube, no wrap. could have been waxed paper, tin foil, toilet paper if you taped a few together
I will post some pics later and possibly a video of the setup I used.
Absolutely will be pulling a pulk.
On a side note, how does one do multiple quotes.

It makes sense, saran wrap tubes are a lot thicker and less likely to get all bent out of shape than, for example, a paper towel tube. Of course, all the gram weenies may want to "upgrade" to the paper towel roll to save an ounce or 2.
