Canada > BC > Vancouver - 2 night hike/hang April 21-23, any interest or suggestions?

I'm likely going to be attending a conference in Vancouver from April 18-21, and thought it would be great to do a 2 night hang nearby either before or (most likely) after the conference. Anyone interested in getting out with me, or have trail/route suggestions?

Seems like Mount Seymour (Elsay Lake) comes up as a possibility, not sure what snow/mud conditions would be like this year though. While car rental or a ferry to Vancouver Island is an option, I don't want to spend too much time traveling to/from trailhead.

    Thanks!

I use a Juki & Pfaffs w/ assorted attachments, and have serviced lots of vintage machines. Any questions?

I've decided that I'm not going to be bringing my full backpacking kit on the trip, due uncertainties about trail accessibility/conditions and also after reading about some relentless tick encounters.

Anyway, I'm still planning a full day hike on Saturday, location TBD but if anyone in the area is interested in meeting up let me know.

In April, there will still be way too much snow up in the mountains. You're better off with a low level destination. As a general rule, I don't tend to hit the trail out here until May. GL with your trip!

Based on the recent snow reports I found that was the conclusion I came to as well - seems like last year was perhaps an exception. I figure between AllTrails and VancouverTrails.com I'll be able to keep my options open and find something suitable once I'm there.
