Guadalupe Mountains National Park - 4 Day Trip VIDEOS

Let me start this off by saying I didn't use a hammock on this trip. So, if this needs to be taken down or anything ... go ahead. This is a 4 day Ultralight backpacking trip to Guadalupe Mountains. Had a ton of fun solo and hardly saw anyone.

Day 1 - Pine Springs to Mescalero

Day 2 - Mescalero to Dog Canyon (Including McKittrick Ridge)

Day 3 - Dog Canyon to Pine Springs (Including the Bowl, Hunter Peak, and Frijole Ranch)

Day 4 - The Devils Hall

Wow very very neat trip and excellent camera work. Thanks a ton for taking us along. A couple of questions if I may. Where do you get water while up in the hills? What is the purpose of the water tanks on top of the mountains other than the obvious. Are these tanks for hikers? Again, thanks a lot for sharing your trip with us.

You have to carry all your water. There aren't backcountry water sources. So I started out with a day and a halfs worth of water. Then hiked to the campground on the north end of the park that has water and refilled.

The water tanks are left over from ranching days. I think they pumped rainwater from the mountains down to the ranch at the base of the mountains. There is a pipe that drops several thousand feet out of the mountains down to the Frijole Ranch House.

    Thanks for watching.

I hiked portions of Guadalupe as a kid, always loved it out there. I never did any of these long trails though, so thanks for the videos.

Looks like a great trip! Sometimes you gotta leave the hammock at home to see the sights here in the desert southwest.
